MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Earlier today (Friday, Jan. 11, 2019), Alice Robertson Junior High School administration was notified of a threat made by a student towards other students.
Administrators immediately identified the student and began investigating the matter with the assistance of Muskogee Public Schools Police. There were necessary steps taken to determine that the threat did not place students and staff in imminent danger.
We ask our students to report anything suspicious to school administration and this is an example of our students being proactive.
“I appreciate that students felt comfortable communicating their concerns to staff. This is just another example of the ownership culture we are trying to create throughout the district,” said Dr. Jarod Mendenhall, Superintendent of Muskogee Public Schools. “We emphasize if a student sees something to say something.”
